Get on board for an exciting floating adventure. Our houseboat offers everything needed to stay a day or a week! The 34' houseboat has sleeping for five including sleeping bags and pillows. Cooking facilities include RV fridge and freezer, 3 burner stove, and bbq. Front, rear, and top decks ensure impressive views of Lake Diefenbaker. The entertainment is houseboating itself with options for swimming, or guided fishing option. Three-day and seven-day packages will include instructions on operation (basic boating knowledge is needed). The evenings and overnight is yours to enjoy docked at the marina or another location on Lake Diefenbaker. Fish fry add on package available!

MEDICINE HORSE HISTORICAL TOUR (4 hours on the houseboat) from Sandy Shores Marina Join us for a fun-filled day with historical narration starting at Sandy Shores Marina on Lake Diefenbaker. Transportation from Saskatoon available. We will tour the area and learn the vision of this enterprise before boarding the Houseboat about 10 am. The houseboat tour offers a unique perspective of the area where the buffalo roamed, and the Indigenous people lived during the summer preparing the buffalo jumps and buffalo pounds. Hear about the customs, visions, and tragedies of these nomadic people of long ago. As food became scarce, this southern part of the South Saskatchewan River was the site of several fierce battles with devastating results between the Plains Cree and the Blackfoot tribes. Several of the wise old chiefs took their people to the sacred Buffalo Child Rock (Mistusinne), now under the waters of Gardiner Dam. The Sandy Shores Resort RV Ice Shack Rental! It is a fully equipped RV available for winter ice fishing . It lowers to the ice surface and has lit holes for fishing. It has the comforts of a fireplace in the dining area to keep you warm and enjoy the relaxing atmosphere of a fire. The indoor washroom makes ice fishing accessible for all. The comfortable sleeping areas are available for night time or grab a nap after an early morning. The cooking facilities include stove and oven. While you are waiting for the jaw jacker to go off, take a break in front of the fireplace with a steaming mug of hot chocolate or coffee made fresh in the kitchen.
