1) The road was complete in the summer and is now maintained by the RM of Coteau. It is open and used regularly with the construction crew on site.
2) Rolling and seeding of grass in the ditches was completed on the access road and within the development. It is expected new grass will get long and go to seed rather than have regular cutting in the first year to ensure it is established.
3) Underground power installation by Pro Western Powerline is ongoing and expected to be complete in January.
4) Engineering for potable water delivery to lots and a water treatment plant is expected to be complete this winter by KGS. WSA approval is needed. Construction timeframe is not known and is dependent on lot sales. It is possible that this can occur in 2017. Initial plans are to run the lines to the rear of the lots wherever there is green space (leaving the power lines alone as much as possible).
5) Engineering for the marina has begun by WSP and the survey plan shows water depth including the area in front of the lots. The engineering work and approvals should be complete this winter. Construction is expected in the winter of 2018.
6) Internet and mobility coverage is a major project. SaskTel has submitted a verbal quote for GPON. This would deliver internet and support the possibility of a tower offering improved mobility service. YourLink service is also being considered. Other services will be considered, if you know of other possibilites, please contact me. CRTC recently announced high speed internet is considered a basic coverage and should be available everywhere. It is expected that this will impact services but likely only in the long term. This is a very complicated project with several government agencies and requiring investment from other parties. I anticipate it will not be installed in 2017 but advocacy and planning are occurring.
7) It is unlikely other utilities such as gas will be explored.
I welcome your thoughts and feedback on the infrastructure. They are major projects. The community association will be invited to discuss the future projects.
